The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer – A Short and Sweet Local Review

The Chemist by Stephanie Meyers

“It’s like the difference between… between reading about gravity and then falling for the first time.”

Wow! What can you say about this book… It is absolutely fantastic! I originally came across this book while I was looking for chemistry books to read for school, and ultimately was so engaged, I think I forgot about school entirely. I saw it and thought I would read it because it was a spy novel that also had chemistry… me being a science and spy lover I just had to see what this book was about. I mean who would not like a spy novel with chemistry aspects! Never did I ever think that it would become one of my all time favourite books!

If you think that you would like to read a spy, action novel with a thrilling romance then this is definitely the book for you. I would highly recommend this book to almost everyone… and I have.

Summary

The book begins with the short and sweet introduction of the main character – who goes by different names nearly every week to conceal her identity… The protagonist, a chemist, who used to work for the government performing interrogations on high grade criminal minds which was meant to reduce the risk of total world wreckage, has now been considered a liability to the government and is being hunted down by assassins. She lives off of small traps that she sets in her ever changing abodes and watches her every step, word uttered, and move every day in order to stay safe.

Long and very awesome story short. She gets into a bit of a situation that leads her to kidnapping someone of a mistaken identity, which leads her on an adventure with a newly formed friendship (with the mistaken identity guy) that could ultimately set everyone free from the endless hunt by the government. Romances are formed, deaths are counted, and chemicals are exposed in order for them to succeed. However the journey, all the memories, experiences and incredible quotes/sayings are what really make the book a memorable read.

I hope that helps in your decision to read or not to read – Paige Shakspeare.

Having read this I believed it was really enlightening. I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this information together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile! Jemimah Aymer Heathcote
